DELETE WITHOUT READING. Clicking on the message can infect your PC as well. I have also had one now.

A friend called me to let me know - I am so sorry about this, I have no idea how they work, nor how to cure it, but I'll contact AOL in the morning.
They're all just rubbish, hope no one gets a problem from any of them.
All my bulk emails go blind, but that would only help other people's emails, not mine.
I am sorry to everyone who has received one.

Not your fault Roger. Pretending to be a trusted sender is a great way to infect people's computers.

I did employ a free virus scanning tool from AVG when I was using Windows OS and it worked very well.

As it happens I've just had one from a barryatob@aol addressed to me, Terry Cleaver and a couple of others. No message just a link to click. Needless to say I didn't

I have all the DDC security and AOL security, so can't understand it, but it is damn infuriating - sorry you didn't get one Terry and Paul.

I received one as well from sharon? .... looked dodgy, deleted
Roger, it isn't your fault! I just needed to alert everyone before someone fell into the trap. There are some scummy people around, preying on innocent email accounts.

I was glad you alerted everyone Bern as I didn't know until I was told and then looked on here.
It came as a total surprise as I thought I was careful with things like viruses and security.
I'm waiting forAOL to get back to me.
I don't know what the people who were contacted from my email contact list thought of it, but I've had no emails from anyone about them.

Thanks Sheli.
I emailed AOL and they eventually came back and said that they will monitor it and that I should change my password, which I've now done; hope it doesn't happen again.
