Only been there 8 months but I find myself so lucky to work where I work, the sunsets, sunrises and the wildlife are to behold.
grass grows by the inches but dies by the feet.

Are you sure it's not radioactivity, Ian?

I work in the same area as you Ian and totally agree with you. Now the longer days are here I don't get to see the sunrises or sunsets bit I did back in the winter - spectacular!
Also isn't it lovely to see natural beaches not spoiled by modern day stuff, just grasses, wild flowers, pebbles and rolling waves. I really think this area is a little piece of heaven.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Pleased to hear you're still happy there Ian; so great to do something you enjoy and get paid for it/
Isn't that light that never goes out, called "hope", Darren ?

Yes, had a bit of a flowery moment there. Posted whilst half asleep!
Unfortunately the reference was a bit less philosophical: it's the title of a Smiths song, the video directed (I think) by Derek Jarman, who lived at Dungeness.
Well worth a visit to his house and garden if you haven't been. Also, just down the road, a relatively new house clad in vulcanised rubber for anyone with an 'architectural fetish'.
