  ELMS VALE, WEST HOUGHAM
  We will be going up the road, then using the track via Soval pond, to continue along the track to West Hougham, Return will be via the woods on top of Whinless Down,passing the site of ancient burial mounds. Please wear stout shoes/boots and bringing water is advisable. Children over 7 welcome. Suggested donation of £1 (to WCCP)appreciated. LEADER: Julia of Collyer's Companions (01304 241806). MEET: Elms

  4.5 miles (2.5 hours). GRADE: 3. Dogs welcome on leads.

  SAMPHIRE HOE TO DEADMAN'S POOL AND BACK (if you're lucky)(Green Gang)
  'Oh arrrrr, if the tide is low and if the wind blows from the sou'west we shall attempt the perilous crossing to dead mans pool'. 'Some say you can hear the cries from long lost sailors on the wind'. 'Davey Jones welcomes young and old alike'. Suggested donation of £2 appreciated. MEET: Site Management Office, Samphire Hoe (Pay and Display car park), Dover (signposted off the A20 when driving from Dover to Folkestone) (TR294 391). Postcode: CT17 9FL.
