Saw this in the paper the other day.
Basically, man abandons injured dog on mountain, dog spotted, dog rescured by others, man wants dog back.

Missy deserves a new and caring owner, one who would have exausted all possible ways of getting her the help she needed. Thank goodness for those people that did just that.

Some pets do not deserve the selfish owners they get.
Reading some other stories on Terry's link this one, although sad, is the antithesis of the other one.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Heartwarming story, as Terry said some pets don't deserve the owners they get.
I cried when I read the article about the dog with arthritis (above.)

My son works for the Dogs Trust and some of the heartbreaking stories of cruelty and neglect he relates to me are sickening. What is so amazing is how, with tremendous love and devotion from the staff at the centre, these fragile creatures can reestablish a bond with man and learn to trust them again. The support the Charity recieves from the public, the last open/funday raised £9,000, means that hundreds more dogs will be wagging their tails as they are rehomed this year.

What with my appreciation for young people running-amok within the city-scape;tomb-stoning and the like and my conviction that all smallish dogs are part cat...enjoy...

Thanks for sharing Terry. That poor dog, and what wonderful rescuers. There are so many similar stories of cruelty and neglect but also many heartwarming ones. Lets hope more people remember the Don't Cook Your Dog campaign this year. Love the video Tom, brilliant.

Aww thanks Terry
I saw that , and was gobsmacked, I couldnt leave my baby up a mountain... he is far too much of a wimp anyhows. I would have taken MY socks off and helped him down the mountain and suffered myself rather than him.

Some people just don't understand the implications of having an animal of any sort. My dogs have cost us a fortune over the years but they were worth it. We'd only had Kip a few months when he managed to break his "elbow". We had insurance but it still cost thousands to put him right. And I'd have paid it myself and lived on own brand baked beans for a year if that's what it would have taken to get him mended. Damn good job I didn't have to eh?
Thanks for sharing!
I think we are all guinea pigs in the middle of an experiment for which they have forgotten to set up a control group!
