  Cap'n Silver.... yes indeed Long John himself, came here yesterday on the sailing ship now showing frontpage. He had to make a hasty departure from a nearby local hostelry, being pursued heartlessly as he was at the time... by the dastardly revenue men, thats the reason his ship left in a hurry. John himself jumped on a passing horse and cart and as he did so his crutch dangled and fell onto the riverbank up near the Red Lion. He just had to let it go as escape from the clutches of the law was the priority. Very sad indeed...as his crutch and himself have been together man and boy since he was a nipper.
