I was in the port waiting for my midnight sailing last night when all hell broke loose!
No idea how the fire started but there wasn't much left of it by the time the fire brigade arrived. It looks like he managed to salvage his trailer but the recovery truck and it's loaded car were toast.
It's a little disconcerting that port staff have to resort to torching freight to keep warm though!

Howard: A car - probably a wreck bound for Lithuania. Just so much burnt scrap now, along with the truck!!
Jan: Poor quality pictures taken on my mobile phone, right place at the right time. Maybe I should invest in one of those small compact cameras to keep in my work bag!

Mobile phone cameras tend not to work too well in low light - they're pretty basic really. I suppose I should have taken a wander for a closer look but it was sleeting and damned chilly.

Great photos from our man on the spot Phil, also good to hear that no one was injured in the blaze.

The driver did receive a cut to his hand as he managed to uncouple the trailer to get it away from the fire, good job he did as the trailer contained 2 more cars.
