Something for the diary...
Remarkable images capture bygone Kent
"An incredible archive of rare images capturing remarkable images of a bygone era in Kent is to go on display in Maidstone.
Before the exhibition, these astonishing glimpses in to Kent's colourful past were all glass plate negatives, the sort produced by the world's first commercially available cameras.
The fragile negatives were then painstakingly scanned by members of the Kent Archaeological Society for its Visual Records Collection of Kent local history.
The images will be displayed at Maidstone Museum during next month's national Festival of Archaeology."
