Howard.
The reports we are receiving are that there was an electrical fire which ignited airborne coal dust.
Dust suppression in coalmines, is at the top of health & safety "Rules & Regulations" and has been responsible for many tragedies over the years, such as the disaster at Senghenydd in South Wales, in 1913 in which 439 miners died.
However, this should not be happening today, anywhere in the World.
It is the easiest to control, by distributing a lime based powder into air, which mixes with the coal dust, rendering it harmless to health and prevents combustion.
If what we are hearing is true and there was no dust suppression, being carried out at this mine or any other mine, then those who are responsible for dust suppression are responsible for the deaths of these miners and are guilty of murder.
