    I saw the Horizon programme. There was much mention of millions of metres per second and such and that 'we' would have 16 hours or so of an early warning via satellite. Not a mention of thee big 'C', the speed of light.
    It, as I understand it, takes light (itself a form of electromagnetic energy) about eight minutes to get from the Sun to Earth, yet we can get warning of Solar-flares, themselves forms of electromagnetic radiation, far in excess of eight minutes.
    Did I make tea at the wrong time?

    This might bring 'air-raid' sirens that adorn Library roofs back into action. If a call went out to switch everything off...how would we get the all clear?
