  He's right - solar is useless. In fact worse than that it's a blight on the landscape which industrializes our countryside.
  Solar arrays merely exploit the subsidy racket which has blighted our energy sector which over the next few years will lead to blackouts and brownouts because of the obsession wit doing stupid things like trying to save the planet for gawds sake which, let's face it, doesn't need saving except in the mind of those who really wish for it so that they can tell themselves "I told you so!!!!"
  The sight of domestic solar installations are as beautiful as stone cladding.
  In order to produce any semblance of reliable energy we would have to cover vast regions of the UK with solar panels and even then they for some reason refuse to generate any energy at night and a lower output during cloudy weather and certainly none at all when covered in snow.
  The carbon footprint of these things far outweighs any perceived or reported gains in saving the production of carbon dioxide. The chemicals used in the process of manufacture are highly toxic. They don't last for the reported 25 years and have to be maintained in order to keep them working, not that they really do.
  They disrupt the energy transmission system.
  without the huge subsidies there would be no solar arrays whatsoever in the UK. What does that tell you?
  Most of the panels used in the UK are imported. All we do is use screwdriver technicians to install them. Talk about screwdriver economy. The same can be said, incidentally, for all wind turbines, biomass in fact all renewables.
  Of course the handwringing middle classes think that measures such as solar, wind and others are important because there is a planet to save in the same way that they believe that we face a threat from overpopulation, DDT and other scare stories du jour.
  That is only for starters.
