Most large employers have a policy on social networking sites , there can be many pitfalls for both sides .
Many people have their employer listed on the profile ie MAry Bloggs employed by XXX NHS Trust , if then the posts go to list a series of illegal events or less than proffesional attitudes then the employer could claim that they have been brought into disrepute and investigation could follow .
The NMC ( the nursing regulator ) have just issued guidance to the use of social networking as there are instances where it can lead to investigation by the regulatory body
