All wrong. It does not make for harmony in a community.Suppose we are fortunate that Connaught is ear marked for housing. Its time the government stopped so many people coming into the country. We need to be more like Australia.
This move will place more strain on KCC.

Does DDC own Connaught or will it go to highest bidder and we have the same situation as Canterbury?

Fairly certain that Connaught is owned by the Homes and Communities agency.

There is a difference in that Connaught Barracks is just a barracks; at Canterbury it's presumably the former Married Quarters that will be taken over. I recall that Canterbury City Council wanted to open up the road that runs through the barracks etc to take some pressure off the roads nearer the city centre.

All very odd. Especially when ONS figures show there are more people dying in Kent than being born. Has it anything to do with the fact that eight out of 10 of the new households formed over the past 15 years were headed by a migrant?
Rod thinks so.

But who cares when you get a 'free' hospital while your local environment changes beyond all recognition?

(N.B. Number of dwellings in Canterbury 3,188 in 2016. Plans talk about an extra 2000 homes!)
