Brian,
My post is absolutely not PC.
It is my personal view that I believe is right, from my point of view.
I am with Marek, I have no problem with people smoking, that is their right and I respect that right, I have many friends who smoke.
All I ask is for the same respect, which is, I do not want to inhale their smoke or put up with the mess that accompanies their smoking.
More should be done to help smokers who want to continue smoking with respect to other's but those that choose to smoke without respect to others and to litter our streets with fag-ends, should be stopped.
All litter droppers, of all kinds, should be fined to cover cost of clearing up their mess, but I don't think fines of £75 are the answer.
More smoking areas, more signs and more receptacles would help.
You talk of compromise Brian, smoke in designated smoking areas and then non smokers cannot complain?
That's a compromise.
