Hi all,
I'd really appreciate any information regarding my great uncle, Sir William Henry Crundall, and his connections with Morley House Convalescent Home, St Margaret's at Cliffe.
I would also be interested in learning more about Sir Robert Anderson's links with Dover, and with Crundall in particular. Sir Robert (not to be confused with Dover's own Sir Robert Anderson) was a resident of London and was Assistant Commissioner of the Met. police from 1888-1901.
Sir Robert was close friend of numerous members of the Mowll family, and often stayed at Dover.
My regards,
Sean.

You have probably already found these sites hope they are of use and I am sure Lorraine would be happy to help and exchange any info.
Good luck.

Hi Reginald,
Many thanks for your reply.
I've checked out both sites and, although very interesting, they don't provide the information I'm looking for.
My regards,
Sean.

Hi Reginald,
I'll definitely do that.
I'm a true Crundall being directly descended from James Crundall (1784-1870), a timber merchant of Brixton, Surrey.
My regards,
Sean.

Sir William Henry Crundall.
Amazing man for Dover, the likes of which we will never see again.
Paul Wells of the Western Heights Preservation Society, and Kent (Dover) History Pages on F/B is another person worth getting in touch with.
The Dover Museum has created a great deal on the above's life. They are worth getting in touch with.
I wonder if any books have been written on him, he certainly had a full and eventful life.
Good luck to you.

Hi Christine,
Thank you for your response.
Sir William was indeed a very interesting man who led a very full and productive life.
I don't believe his life has ever been written in full, which is somewhat surprising.
I've collected, over a thirty year period, a great deal of information on all aspects of his life. I've also managed to garner many family anecdotes relating to, as my grandfather used to say: "Our people in Dover".
I'll make a point of contacting Mr Wells.
Many thanks,
Sean.

Off your original (JTR?) topic, but I assume you'll be aware of the Sir William Crundall engine and Lady Crundall vessel?
(Not my real name.)

Hi Button,
Yes, I've seen a couple of photos of the steam engine, Sir William Crundall. Also, I own an oil painting of the tug boat, Lady Crundall.
I'm interested in all information relating to Sir William and the Crundall family. The Jack the Ripper connection is also very interesting; any information relating to Sir William and Morley House would be of great interest to me.
Thanks for your post.
My regards,
Sean.
