Thanks Tom.
I read that earlier, shame that another old entertainer passes away; he was a good singer who told jokes and always got a laugh without swearing.
Surprised to hear he emigrated to Queensland in 2005, that'd make him 82 when he went there.
RIP Max

Another a great entertainer from the past, I used to see his name in lights from Sunday Night at the London Palladium to headlining end of the pier shows. I seem to remember him singing/reading an odd ditty about a pack of cards R.I.P Max

that was the first thing that i noticed roger, seems a late age to move to the sun, suffered from alzheimers for some time.
wasn't a great fan but i did laugh at one of his quotes, when asked why he had a swimming pool installed at his bournemouth home he replied "i need somewhere to wash the money".

While not wishing to be seen as Dover's Grim Reaper...
Through Hal David, lyricist
our post-war years were truely kissed
we've la-de-dah'd our Magic Moments
as we bill-n-coo, we say a little prayer for you...

R.I.P to both of them.
It is amazing the number of popular songs Hal David was responsible for, I prefer this one Tom.

iremember as a kid the names david/bacharach on the labels of 45's, so many of their collabarations have reached the level of being "standards".

I saw him on the stage in Dover,in the 1960s or it might have been the late 1950s,
Max was not what I would call a good singer but he was a good front man to have on stage.
