  Has Dave just woken up from a "Rip Van Winkle" type sleep? Please somebody, tell him that we are not allowed to make the laws in our own country anymore. As commendable as these sentiments are, I suspect that it`s just words that he knows people want to hear due to the fact that he is powerless to do anything else of a practical nature to stop the next flood of immigrants to our shores. It`s our masters in Brussels who decide who can come here and how of course, not us.
  
  However, I wish him well in this attempt to place some minor restrictions on our new visitors and it will be interesting to see how this all pans out. My only fear being that if this was eventually put into effect, any actual benefit savings will be well and truly wiped out by the massive fines imposed by the EU ( and which we always pay of course! ) through not following their orders!
  
  The only way to control our borders is of course to actually leave the EU and it`s dictatorial set-up once and for good. However, I`m still not so sure that the conservatives would deliver on this even if they were to win the next general election and I`ll explain why in another thread when time permits!
