    Exactly Howard, that is not the issue at all. Whilst Heike and Barrie are correct of course in that there are many decent immigrants, we should however still have the option to control the number of people coming here should we so desire. It is not about whether they are nice or not, in fact I`m sure that a lot of them are. To be honest, I don`t particularly care for a great number of our "own" people that leave much to be desired but we should still, should we so wish, have the right to manage immigration into this country in a correct and sustainable manner.

    Brian, call it scaremongering if you wish, but the Labour party never exactly had a good track record with being acurate with numbers of immigrants did they? A few years back with Labour`s "open door" policy Blunkett forecast 13,000 eastern european immigrants would arrive here for the first two years and we now know of course that the real figure was 800,000. Perhaps this is one reason why we become scared and don`t trust governments any more?
