I understand exactly what the forum members mean, I'm just doing my usual and trying to stop the cut and paste mentality from taking over. I feel that an awful lot of this is governmental demonisation of certain groups. If you check other posts, the unemployed are spoken of as lazy scroungers, then we are given the reason that we have unemployment is because we have too many immigrants, or the long term sick and disabled are a part of the problem and they make the welfare bill too high so the government penalises others by inventing the bedroom 'tax' (which isn't a tax) to try and claw money back, whilst at the same time local authorities are unable to provide their tenants with more suitable accommodation. I just get the feeling that if people stood back and thought for a minute, they might realise that the government might be using these groups as scapegoats to cover up their own shortcomings.
I don't pretend to have the answers, but some on here should forget 'immigrants', and try substituting 'people' or 'families' in their thought processes.
Just a thought...
