The post you are reporting:
This second rate and overblown politician became a Cabinet member on the basis of a myth propagated by the BBC and The Guardian, desperate to find a 'left wing hero' to fill the gap left the the obviously incompetent Labour regime.
He has clearly been unhappy with the responsibilities of government and openly described opposition as more fun.
With his latest and very silly emotional outburst he has lost all credability with the business community. Business leaders have rightly lined up to condemn him, whatever political allegencies they hold. Digby Jones, a one-time Minister in the Brown government, has joined forces with Lord Turner and many others to condemn Cable. Even Ming Cambell has distanced himself from Cable, telling the BBC that he 'would not have used those words'.
Cable is THE weakest link in the government and always has been. He has now lost all credability with the business community and his position as Business Secretary must be questioned. The government is depending on business growth to lead the way out of recession, the lower that growt the less money government will have to spend. Businesses have and have always had an important role to play. They need a Business Secretary who can command respect and who knows what he is doing.
Time perhaps to sack Cable and bring Laws back into government. Thta would be a good move, drop a second rater and to bring back someone with real talent.
Clegg, apparently, is the one who can sack LibDem Ministers though it is Cameron who has the ultimate say over appointments.
Clegg should act in the interests of the country and get shot of that liability Cable.
A quick addendum to this post:
I have just read a suggestion that there is a degree of stage management about percieved tensions within the coalition. This argument makes sense as there are good strategic reasons for this. But Cable's comments do not make sense and are very unlikely to be part of any stage managed dissention.
