the 'pin up' photo of Michael Gove made me feel very unwell and totally distracted my thoughts from the topic! What was he thinking!!
However, I find myself in agreement with him and have long felt that shorter, more frequent breaks would benefit pupils and staff alike. Teaching was the only job that I had where I actually NEEDED to have breaks. In all my other jobs I simply chose when I wanted to take a break but never felt that I needed one to restore my physical and mental strength.
Mark, when I was involved in professional nursing , I found the same remedy. Short regular breaks were more beneficial and were pressure relievers. My daughters, both in the caring professions use the same practice.
Hope all is going well in Deal. My brother-in-law [loose terminology] has enjoyed your hospitaility & brews & gives excellent reports.
