    A great idea and part of the slow process of regaining our towns and villages from the car. Look at the space devoted to pedestrians v the car when you are next in town and see where priority is given. Cycle paths should also be given greater prominence; squeezing them onto already restricted pavements (or setting them contra traffic flow as in Stembrook) is just tokenism and only gives rise to irritation on.
    A bold new strategy is required.............., oh! That's why it won't happen here!
