We would really appreciate it, if you could let yourDover Forum readers know about this guided walk we are running on Sunday 28th April.(No need to book just turn up before the start at 2pm). Four local actors (who have kindly volunteered their time) will appear around the countryside & cliffstop to recite sonnets and passages, to celebrate Williams Shakespeare's birthday (April 23rd).
Shakespeare's touring company came to Dover in1609 when Shakespeare was writing King Lear, and as we know Shakespeare incorporated the local landscape into the play
"There is a cliff, whose high and bending head
Looks fearfully in the confined deep...
...The crows and choughs that wing the midway air
Show scarce so gross as beetles; half way down
Hangs one that gathers Samphire, dreadful trade!"
Thank you very much
