Sell house first or get job first?

  When you're in your 40's and you want to move from London to Dover do you:
  
  Sell your property first
  
  or
  
  Get a job in the Dover area first?
  
  We've never had to worry about this sort of thing before!

  jobs are not so many down this way steve, as you can appreciate over the coming years it's likely to get worse.
  
  it depends what you have in mind, but i would suggest a job comes in handy to pay he bills lol

  Find the job first. Then you can commute or rent locally while you sell your house.

  I agree with the others get the job first rent and take your time finding exactly where you want to live the varying districts each have their own feeling.

  1-Get the local Estate Agent in to do valuation, you will also get an idea of market strength.
  2-Check out the market in East Kent for price over suitability and market strength.
  3-Check out the East Kent/local job market in your field.
  
  Other than that, the advice as given above, to find work first & rent while sorting things out in London:house sale, removal. And, of course, the house-purchase locally.
  
  Does your daughter drive? If not, driving lessons would go to the top of the list.
