    A couple of things here:
    1/ Howard, there were massive differences between the north and south of 'ghan. The Taliban held sway and had a lot of support in the south, yes - but not the north where they imposed their ways by force.
    2/ There is a world of difference between the Russian invasion and what we are doing there Tom. The small communist leaning puppet government they had is unlike the present regime and they were imposing their rule by massive force of arms that was for great that what we have there. Our enemy is just the Talaban.
    3/ No-one has yet said anything about the big problem I pointed out. You 'give a view' that just ignores the elephant in the room and in real geo-politics we cannot do that.
