  Yes that was the first thing I thought of too BarryW. It leaks like a sieve over there and Bin Laden would have fled long before the SEALS arrived...and on top of that they could have been ambushed. Pakistan were affronted at the time but you can see why the Americans took this silent option. Those SEALS guys are a bit useful..they did the pirates last week too.
  
  Following on also from all the French soldiers shot last week by someone they were trying to help, 4 dead, 16 others also shot but recovering, it does make you just wonder if its all a complete waste of time. These guys were shot by an Afghan soldier/policeman working alongside them..not the first time this has happened.
  
  I heard a late report last night on Radio 4 which said that huge regions of Afghanistan would prefer to be governed by the Taliban, they dont want Karzai...several experts were confirming this, including the very believable Tory MP Rory Stewart who was formerly an army officer and served out there.
  
  This is something Ive always believed would happen..history tells us this. When the intruders move away, the tumbleweeds of previous life roll back in slowly. Western lives are lost holding a sort of status quo, this status quo cant be maintained forever and when the westerners go the previous system rolls back in and people end up doing what they want to do, and usually that means doing what they did before.
