    I'm not convinced that the July import checks will the implemented on time. The legal obligation is there but the political motivation still seems lukewarm at best. The government are much more concerned about minimising public perception of any negative Brexit impact than they are about deterring smuggling or the importation of sub-standard goods.

    Unless WTO inspired pressure grows, of course.

    My guess is that Natalie got her way about kicking the import control ball down the road.

    British Port Authority (someone's mistake for British Ports Association, I'm guessing)

    Must be surely, unless they've changed their name. But they're not an authority but essentially a trade organisation.
