Not so much BTW...
" Village hall tax
SIR - Our village hall at Chiddingly, a registered charity, is run by volunteers for the benefit of the local community.
Until now Wealden Council benignly charged us modest amounts to collect our rubbish, but now it has contracted out waste collection.
So while in 2010 we paid an annual charge of £12.83, for next year we are being asked for £524.16 - a 3,985 per cent increase.
Do readers have even more impressive examples of corporate greed?
