    I've been on my allotment for an hour so catching up. Back to Vic Matcham at #40, it wouldn't be a referendum which would be binding, they are parish polls.

    And to repeat what everyone is saying on here but you don't seem to acknowledge, money spent on a parish poll is money that can't be spent on something else, which makes the matter worse not better. I seem to recall the people's port vote was said to cost about £15,000 - you can do a lot with that sort of money.
