12:0677225the launch of chas's "people's port" is at the above tomorrow 1300 hours.
all the top people will be there, vera lynn, paul watkins and some important people too.(sorry paul couldn't resist that)

13:2077231It is already a People's port or as near as it can be, the new People's Port will take Dover People's money but will be run by big buisness who will take any profits.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

13:2777234that is what a lot of people are saying john, the people's port bit allows for money to be set aside for the wider community.
if it was just simply sold off that would not happen.

13:3777235Hear what you say Howard, but the money won't come into Dover it will end up in big offices blocks in London.say 10,000 people put in £10 £100,000 just a fraction of the cost, where would the other money come from? Where would the profits go to?

15:1977251i must confess a lot of this is going over my head, will attend tomorrow's meeting and try to understand the plan.
when paulw put forward a plan about 5 years ago then meant investment in the town he got a lot of flak and lost him votes at the election, i don't really see how this new one is very different.
