The long hours needed to reach gold in Kayaking in Rio were definitely not achieved on Dover sea front. A friend of mine was at the sea front with her own kayak and one on loan from the Sea Sports Centre, but their evening was spoiled by the fact the centre shut at 5pm. This on a beautiful summer's evening when all the conditions were perfect for water sports, it beggers belief but no doubt there is a defence for closing early but whatever it is I won't accept it.

Fully agree Ken our Summers are short enough so really the hours of daylight should be taken advantage of.

I don't undetand that either.We fought hard and long to,get the centre.My son spent many hours there

How about money, staff numbers, staff availability, demand/customer numbers...
This is a "business" not a charity run by volunteers...

Ross surely the Winter months would see justifiable early closing but not in the Summer.
