13:1090854I must admit Nick Gibb isnt a name familiar to me but it is good to hear of him coming to Dover on a fact finding tour, probably to see how well they are doing as you say and hopefully to put the positives into effect elsewhere.

13:1890855All the schools mentioned are, of course, members of the Dover Federation of the Arts. He is coming down to meet Chris Russell and see the schools to fact-find why the Federation is doing so well. It is not the first visit of this kind. He will also be finding out how government led target effect areas such as Dover that are subject to 'double-selection' where the grammar bite as far as 40% into the school population instead of the 20% that historically has been the grammar target group. This 'double-selection' is the result of overall falling school rolls alongside a more fixed intake for the grammars.

15:5290859the most important thing is that he is visiting to see what dover is doing that is better than in some other places.
full credit has to be given to staff and pupils and the people that created the framework for such astonishing results.

18:2690874Having gone through the last time they came to visit schools in Dover I have slight reservations to that department visiting us again,I hope that is the reason.

18:3290875There is nothing sinister Jan. It is, as Howard says, a response to the success of the 'hard' Federation in Dover. It has a very good reputation and is seen as a role model.

09:3790939I was a governor of the former St Radigunds for ten years ,Chairman for four and I think hearty Congratulations are the order of the day .I looked up on Kent on Line and the little girl who read out a letter was excellent .I see the children fpom time to time and they look very smart in their new uniforms ,They have been given pride and we should not doubt that the Minister was here to see the vast improvement .
With choice these days it amazes me to see children coming all the way to River when there is an excellent school on therir door step .
I know one parent will read this no offence but Im sure you will agree the school has been turned around .
