Scarecrows in River

  It is the River Village Scarecrow Trail this weekend.
  
  Good clean family fun walking around River finding all the different scarecrows, you can purchase a map for a £1 at Crabble Corn Mill or the River Village Hall and there is also a quiz on the trail printed on the back.
  
  Give it a go it is a good walk for all the family including the dog if you have one or you can of course go round in the car or on a bike.
  
  
  
  You can also pop into the Mill and have a refreshing cuppa while you are on your journey round.

  Yes was quite surprised to see PEppa Pig and a princess staring at me as I went by a house this morning, and more at the school opposite. Was wondering what that was all about. Fantastic idea! Are the maps raising money for something or just general fun?

  As far as I know the money goes into The Parish Entertainment Committee Fund which all goes out to local charities at the end of the year.
  
  It is all on again tomorrow (Sunday) and it's good family fun.

  Yes we have been puting this on inline with Wingham they to it one year and River the next and so on.This has be going on for some years now,must say it is a very good weekend and it helps the mill to so it is a + all the way round,100s of Scarecrows to see this year,we get more and better ones each year we put it on. so have a great day.
