This is the posting about the Scarecrow Trail at River.
The dates are the Sat/5th and Sun/6th of July,and we are fund raising for the Kent Air Ambulance.
The times of the event are 10am till 4pm on both days.
There is a small of£2 per Adult and the kids go free, for that £2 you will get a map of the participating gardens+A Scarecrow sticker, also on the other side of the map Children will nominate their favourite scarecrow recording on the map+A children,s quiz there will be two Childrens prizes
You can start at the corn mill or the village hall and also end at both of them.
Hopefully there will be signs up about parking Appey, Bushy etc and around the village directing participants to the starting points.
The event will go ahead what ever the weather is like.
There will be food all day at the mill and the village hall on both days you will have to pay for all food and drink.
The open gardens will not allow the public to use their toilets for security reasons but there are toilets around the Village they will be on your map.
If you or your Children would like to make a scarecrow this can be done in your own home but we are holding workshops at the mill the main focus at the workshops will be on making the heads we will be useing balloons and paper mashie this will halp to keep the cost down but we are looking at plaster of paris but there might be a small charge if you use that. you can still make a scarecrow even if you do not live in River there alots of places to put them up.
Ok, the dates for the workshops are Sat/17th may and Tues 27th May times are 10am till 12midday there is no school that week.
The closeing date for telling us if you are opening your garden or puting up scarecrows is the 31first of May so we can put it on the map and do the printing, lf you come in later than that it will not go on the map.
This is going to be a great weekend for all the family also at the mill Mrs Webb will be doing face painting on both days and on Saturday night the 5th at the Mill a scarecrow dance this is for their own funds so please come along again prize for the best turn out scarecrow there is lots more to come yet will up date you all in 4weeks time.
