the town seems taken over by the stuff, a bit like that film "day of the triffids".
k college were bereft until the seventh cavalry came to the rescue and made sure they didn't feel left out of things.

I think scaffolding breeds over night or when we turn our backs on it!

Surely with one exception[Snoops/Wetherspoons] the erection of scaffolding is a good sign. People maintaining or upgrading their properties.

Won't be long before the buddleia takes over the Snoops scaffolding. Much more attractive, don't you think?

Good to see local entrepreneur Neil Rix getting the contract at K College. He, along with many others I suppose, has been struggling to keep his men gainfully employed of late I gather.

He also has the huge contract for The Gateway flats Phil...sections of said building are currently embracing the delights of scaffolding and netting etc

It may not look nice but it means jobs and the building industry need it.
What I get angry about is seeing scaffolding up from firms way out of town, especially when it is around buildings owned by the local Council. I know they have to put work out to tender but local firms should also be looked after, they pay their business tax.

HARRY;
Think you will find the tenders go out and local are quite able to tender but often don't or can't compete with others.
but i'm sure the politician forum members will comment further

it's so easy to be cynical but, if you look at the top of the building in the top photo in post #13 you will see the first stages of vertical farming. In time I am sure it will look like this:
