09:5928433Don't forget if you are spending another boring saturday in door,Richard Digance is at Dover Town Hall at 7pm,tickets only the £10 ones are left and if you can call John Goodwin on 01304 212277 or pay on the night from 6pm,also appearing are Louise Orfila and Richard Esdale.
If you haven't heard of Richard Digance come along and listen to his nostalgic songs and jokes

20:2028551Thanks Terri I am glad you enjoyed it,I was told it was the best show ever in Dover until our next one.
Thanks to all who came and all those who volunteered to help make the show a hugh success,Richard was not only brilliant but a nice man and he wants to come back to Dover not only for a show but to visit the Town. The audience were fantastic and there was a great atmosphere even people who had not heard of Richard Digance thought he was great, and Louise and Richard Esdale were superb as well
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

09:1028553For those who didn't make it, or didn't fancy it.......... YOU MISSED A FANTASTIC NIGHT.
John Goodwin is a very modest man, but I have to say he hosted the event with great Pizzaz and I would like to say a huge thankyou for bringing Richard to Dover. I was never really a fan, but I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard, he was incredible, and reached out to every single age group.
The atmosphere was wonderful, kicking off with the super Louise Orfila and Richard Esdale, what incredibly talented people they are.
John whatever your next venture, please count in the DCAL team to help out, the girls had a fab time and now want to make "Eric the Elephant" into the new carnival dance craze lolol.
THANKS FOR A FAB NIGHT !!!!!

19:3328582Thanks Mandi and Barry yes I am a very modest man.....who me,that is not what my wife calls me but I believe and with others who believe we can change what happens in Dover and if I can't do it one way then I with others will find another way.
Gill Gough and I thought there was (is) a market to bring live entertainment to Dover not just comedians but all sorts of entertainment groups, variety shows etc we may not always get it right,we may not always put on things that you want to see but we will try.
About 50% of the people who saw the show came from out of town,Sittingbourne,Thanet Deal and Folkestone,we need the support of Dover people when you take out those of us who can't go out or who don't speak English as a first language and the youngsters and those who can't be bothered or who don't believe in Dover our town population of 35,000 approx can see small.
We cannot compete with the Leas Cliff,or the Winter Gardens in Planet Thanet or even the super duper new Marlowe in Canterbury.
But we can bring entertainers to Dover who are not A listers and may be old timers but we will bring them subject to budget and if the people support us,if they don't then it will be through lack of effort from DoverLive crew.
After speaking to Richard Digance's agent today I said we want him back and perhaps in a couple of years he will return I know he enjoyed himself on his first real visit to Dover and loved the crowds joining in and I know he enjoys smaller venues where he can mix with the crowd,we havent got the best facilities but we can offer a warm friendly welcome with the best we have in the Town and that is our DoverLive volunteers.......The rest is upto the people of Dover
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!
