that pic or something similar appeared on the front page of "private eye" a while back.
DC was saying to the baby "i am going to get elected and save the economy" the baby replies" i wasn't born yesterday".

When will the government get on with it and declare an election? I presume they are waiting for Easter to be over.
A bit like this interminable winter, we are all waiting for the limbo to end.

Andrew - they have the budget debate going on into next week.
I expect he will visit HMQ on the 6th April to request that Parliament be dissolved, there will then be a week to tie up business before the election itself gets fully under way with polling 6th May.

Perhaps they are hoping for some good news? In which case, we might have a very long wait.

Cameron and all the other leaders are recognising the importance of the over 50s' vote, this country's most politically-active, powerful and numerous voting group (and with, let's face it, the most money - especially the babyboomer sector of the Saga generation).
Gordon Brown is doing a live webchat with Saga next week, and Nick Clegg soon too, on an as-yet-unconfirmed date.
Cheers all,
Andy
PS: On a different note...for Roger Walkden - sorry to here about you getting the heave-ho. Can't understand why. My crumbling hometown needs more people like you, doing the right thing. All the best, Andy.
