Can you please ask Chris to post this on dover forum Thank you Just to let you know, I have organised a safety awareness event on the Promenade in the area of the Dover Water Sports Centre on Bank Holiday Monday (April 9th). The event will take place between 1100 and 1500 Hrs. The event is of course free.
Attending the event will be The Port of Dover Police, Kent Fire & Rescue Service who will have an appliance, fire safety display trailer, the chip pan fire display and a fire safety team to answer any questions or arrange home safety visits etc, the Port of London Authority will be attending with a large river/sea safety walk through trailer, RNLI and the MCA Coastguard cliff rescue team, The British Life Saving Association with demonstrations on CPR for adults and Children, The Youth Services promoting the new Youth HQ in Dover with youth doing face painting and Karen Griffiths from the Dover Partnership against Crime bringing along a small brass band ! For a little background music.
I have put this together as once again due to funding cut backs, the annual Community Safety Day in Pencester has again been scrapped.
For your and residents information.
Kind Regards
Martin

Dover,
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

A smart move, underlined with the mention of 'chip pan', to keep this strictly Safety and far away from 'health'.
Safe is a good thing to be.

Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Safety awareness day
A Safety Awareness Day will take place along the Promenade by the Dover Sea Sports Centre on Bank Holiday Monday, April 9, from 11am until 5pm.
Port of Dover Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service will be attending with the Fire Safety Team and a fire engine, the chip pan fire display unit and other safety displays. Also present will be the RNLI, the Coastguard Cliff Rescue Unit and the Port of London Authority river and sea safety display unit. Kent Youth Services will be offering information on the new Dover Youth HQ and local youths will be offering face painting for young children on the day.
Also the British Life Saving Association will be providing advice and displays on CPR and how to save the life of a baby and young children. A brass band, organised by Karen Griffiths from Dover Partnership against Crime, will be entertaining the crowd, playing wartime memories and Crime Busters will also be in attendance.
Martin Dadd, of Port of Dover Police, said: "We look forward to welcoming local residents on Bank Holiday Monday and hope that people will come forward with questions or seek advice on any safety issues."
Been nice knowing you :)
