I still find it extremely irritating that I do not receive my mail until between 1.00 and 2.00 when I live a couple of minutes from the sorting office.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Hear hear Jan - me too.

I have not received my mail that early (7am) since I moved to this area over 40 years ago.

Oddly enough I have noticed the drop-off in spam-leaflets etc. that used to come along with every postal delivery.
I did get a 'free' Olympics lapel badge from EDF Energy this morning...1,2,3...ahhhh!

Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

there must be doubts as to the future of the royal mail, there has been a steady fall in posted articles since first the fax machine then e mails came into being.
i have recently signed up for paperless billing on a couple of things and am always the last to change.
courier companies have eaten into the old royal mail parcels business too, only junk mail is sustaining them at the moment.
