    I agree, there must be other ways of regeneration than attracting supermarkets. Why would a supermarket chain choose to move to DTIZ when so many are opening at the Charlton Centre, unless one of them was to be offered superior premises there.
    Perhaps a way forward would be to create themed areas - as with Folkestone's creative quarter. Margate looks good with bunting and flags and cafes in its Old Town. Simple strategies that make a town look interesting and alive.

    I must stress that my plan to build on Pencester if NOT to do with current users but with the rationale of creating a centralised shopping area rather than one part on the DTIZ then running to the Charlton Centre which has to be unsustainable.
