  These sort of stupid rules make me realise why I am glad not to be living in England anymore. Regulations have just become so ridiculous and no-one uses any common sense anymore in applying them. This man was only trying to help clean up the countryside after someone elses mess was left behind.

  what shocks me is that the staff knew the man on personal terms and still did the bureaucratic bit.
  
  the joke is that the council will then send out a lorry to pick the stuff up and bring it back to the same depot it was refused by.

  Talk about jobsworths.
  
  Common sense would have told them to take them. We're talking about two televisions in this instance, not nuclear waste.

  I suppose we will have to be careful picking up litter in the street and placing it in a bin, we might get jumped on by the 'anti-litter picking up and placing in the bin police' Heaven forbid!
