12:2290194on the news today that a council has brought in a limit of 80 bags of rubbish per household per annum.
another 180 councils are looking closely at this in an effort to comply with e.u. regulations.
we were told prior to the election that fortnightly collections would end.
the fact is that since the election another 13 councils covering half a million people have changed from weekly to fortnightly collections.

14:5790202Our 'general' household rubbish does not amount to over half a bin/bag full a week, after the recycling items are separately dealt with. I would think this maximum is quite adequate, unless it is for a large family or the household buys continual ready-meals and packaged goods all the time.
