The thing to remember with regards to recycling is that it depends on the processing plant used by the contractor as to what can and can't be recycled. The service used by Dover, and I believe all other East Kent local authorities, does not process plastic bags, or "crumpled" plastics. So, whilst some plastics may have the recycling triangle, they can't be recycled through the local service. There is a full list on the DDC website, but basically this means plastic tubs, yoghurt pots, food trays, etc. can go in your recycling bin, but not plastic bags. If people have a glut of plastic carrier bags many of the supermarkets have their own recycling points for these. Hope this information is of some use to others.
