Almost 10 years after SEEDA was abolished I wonder how many thousands of new visitors to Dover have been generated from that poorly informed document and how many thousands have been lost to consultants.

As I've said before, when we were about to spaff hundreds of thousands on the Olympics torch going through Dover we were told that we would end up with an 'Olympic legacy' of Dovorians all being as fit as a butcher's dog and increased visitor numbers/overnight stays in Dover.

When I asked at Scruitiny what were the 'present' visitor figures which the increase could be measured against it came out that nobody knew!

Upshot was ludicrous amounts of money were spent and after the event no effort was made to see whether the whole exercise gave 'value for money' or indeed had made any difference to anything.
