I always believed him to be an amiable and harmless eccentric, to find about his dark side came as a shock to everybody.
Clearly an evil character that would have got a much longer sentence if he had been caught a lot earlier.

The sentence is being referred to the Attorney General to see if it can be lengthened.
He is not a well man, but I believe his wife is less well. He may well not come out of gaol alive - a sad end.

From the BBC ............"They had claimed Harris had indecent images of children, as part of a larger collection of adult pornography, but decided it was not in the public interest to prosecute him."...

It seems he was lucky not to get a longer sentence but at his age this could be the equivalent of a life sentence even if he is out earlier.
I was one of those who could not believe the accusations when he was charged, he must have a Jekyll and Hyde character.

Me too Jan, I couldn't believe it either.
I think the thing I can't get my head round is that one of his victims was assaulted 14 times. O.K. you might quite not appreciate what's going on the first time, maybe the second, but 14 ? Would this not imply you are complicit and gave the offender (Rolf) the thought that it was being accepted ?
I don't know, I haven't read all the transcripts, or attended court of course and I know he has admitted some assaults but said they (the girls) were at least 18.
The jury have found him guilty, so I guess that's the end of it.

A lot more coming out now with accusations being made in his native Australia.
I cannot believe that his wife was unaware of his actions especially as the assaults on his daughter's friend happened at the home of the Harrises.

Sadly Roger, the young are often dominated by the offender so are frightened to speak out or if they are brave enough to do so are not believed as was the case with Jimmy Saville.
Tragic for victim and all the families involved.

This will cost him a lot of cash and could see the end of his home.I feel sorry for the family who have been with him each day at the court.

Harris had the same traits as Saville, both got a kick by doing what they did with others in close proximity even on live t.v.
Both thought they were entitled to do whatever they liked because of their popularity with the public.
