Roger, I think you'll find the law has been changed already - if you look at the path on Melbourne Avenue between Honeywood Road and Fulbert Road there's a sign indicating can be used by pedestrians and cyclists. DDC probably approved it!

A report in both local papers this week on "Operation Clean Sweep" says 12 cyclists riding on pavements were stopped and advised not to do it - doh, I think they knew that already.

As for Operation Clean Sweep, it seems to be a multi-agency PR exercise where they all got together and said for one day only we are going out to do the job the public thought we were doing all the time - or am I being unduly cynical?
