Olympic Torch - Evening Celebration: Ticket arrangements confirmed for LOCOG stage show.
As excitement around the Olympic Torch Relay builds, Dover District Council is pleased to confirm that tickets for the evening celebration stage show in Dover, which includes a performance from chart toppers Rizzle Kicks, will be available by ballot from 31 May.
Tickets will be awarded by ballot, and you can register online from 9am on 31 May to midnight on 14 June. Tickets will be managed by Ticketmaster - and will be available through
www.ticketmaster.co.uk
Recipients will be selected at random (although priority is given to Dover District residents) and all applicants, whether successful or not, will be informed by Ticketmaster between 15 and 18 June. Tickets will be free, however a small administration fee will apply.
The evening celebration - Song for Dover - is produced by a partnership between Dover District Council, Arts Council England, The World Famous and Kent County Council.
The stage show is organised by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the three Presenting Partners of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay - Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung.
The stage show on Dover Seafront on 18 July starts at approximately 5.30pm and runs until around 8pm, and includes:
20 minutes of local entertainment, including: the song 'Pass the Passion' written and sung by children from a range of local schools; the Snowdown Colliery Male Choir; and local cheerleading squads the Vista Twisters and CJ's
Lloyds TSB bringing 20 minutes of stunning acrobatic performances
Samsung staging 20 minutes of amazing dance performances
Coca-Cola showcasing 20 minutes of the hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks
The last torchbearer of the day lighting a celebration cauldron.
Each household will be able to apply for up to five tickets, and any under 16-year-olds will need to be accompanied by an adult at the event.
But unsuccessful applicants won't miss out, there are plenty of activities to enjoy...
During the stage show the Olympic Torch Relay will be working its way around Dover, before arriving on the stage. This is a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors to line the streets and welcome the Olympic Flame to Dover.
To round off this unique event, a spectacular firework finale, open to everyone, will be held on the seafront to celebrate the Olympic Flame and the area. This specially commissioned show created by Kent-based pyrotechnicians The World Famous, will combine five local choirs - singing new music by Helen Chadwick and Howard Moody - with fireworks across Dover Harbour.

2012 Dover Tattoo launches Souvenir Brochure : The Diamond Jubilee souvenir brochure which features articles about the history of Dover during the Queen's reign and connections with the Cinque Ports, has been launched this week. There are also pieces about contributors to this year's tattoo and a foreword by the Patron, Admiral the Lord Boyce, Constable of Dover Castle and Admiral of the Cinque Ports.
The brochure is designed to be a permanent souvenir of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee and of the significant (and sometimes unmarked) contribution to our well-being, made by our brave and outstandingly professional armed forces, as well as providing an attractive record of local endeavour.
It has been printed by Dover company, Buckland Media, which was also connected prominently with Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee celebrations in Dover. Some local firms have chosen to give employees tickets to the Tattoo in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee and the local authorities and the MoD have given very strong financial and logistic support.
The intention is to sell all the tattoo tickets, which have been priced to provide the widest possible access to the event. If all are sold there will be a small reserve fund to give significant donations to local as well as service charities and possibly host special events in future years to continue our efforts to boost tourism.
Don Soppit, Press and PR Officer for the event said "local businesses who have offered to sell copies of the brochure to promote the Tattoo, are really impressed with this attractive and informative 40-page glossy brochure, excellent value at just £5.00". Copies of the
Souvenir Brochure can be purchased in the 2012 Dover Tattoo Office, 23 Worthington Street, and other local outlets

Jubilee Street Party in the Market Square: Please come and join us on 3rd June from 11am for a street party and various entertainment in the Market Square Dover for the Queen's Jubilee.
As part of celebrations to mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Dover District Council is supporting The Big Jubilee Lunch with a special event at the Big Screen Live Site at Dover Market Square on Sunday 3 June from 11am to 5pm.
Communities are invited to come along to celebrate the occasion with family and friends, bring a picnic with them, and join in with The Big Jubilee Lunch.
Dover District Council will be providing tables and chairs at the Market Square, and there will be a range of entertainment, including a life-size Punch and Judy, live music and outside games. The BBC will be showing special Jubilee coverage on the Big Screen.
The Big Lunch is an idea from the Eden Project, funded by the Big Lottery. The aim is to encourage as many people in the UK as possible to have lunch with their neighbours once a year, for a few hours of community, friendship and fun.
Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all kinds of communities, and in 2011 the number of participants doubled to the best part of two million.
This year, the event will be called The Big Jubilee Lunch and will proudly support The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations on Sunday 3 June.
For more information on The Big Lunch, or to plan your own Big Lunch event, please see

'BEST WESTERN PLUS' AWARDED TO DOVER HOTEL
Dover's only boutique hotel has been awarded BEST WESTERN PLUS status by the Best Western hotel group, having only just celebrated its 1st first birthday recently.
Of the twenty-one Best Western Plus hotels in the UK, The Dover Marina Hotel officially joins the ranks as the twenty-second hotel to be awarded this tremendous accolade amongst the elite category.
What's more - it's the only one in Kent!
'To be upgraded by Best Western to BEST WESTERN PLUS status means that Dover now has a recognised premium hotel, which will no doubt be a great boost for tourism to the region' said Mr Anoob Saban, Group General Manager.
A hotel must demonstrate exemplary service and offer facilities accustomed to any 4+ star hotel in order to receive this prestigious status.
This promotion follows suit after having been recognised with a 4 star accreditation for the AA only last week.
The Dover Marina Hotel has been an integral venue for the local community within its first year of opening. By offering a sophisticated, yet affordable venue it has since attracted many regular guests and corporate clients to play host to private functions, conferences and themed events; of which Wine Tasting Evening has already sold out and events as far as October proving very popular as well.
The resplendent Marina High Tea and Starbucks coffee have remained favourites with the regular guests, and this summer should hopefully see the return of guests enjoying Movenpick ice cream just a stone's throw away on the beach.
