Well I went in for my stent on Friday morning - remembering to take the blood-thinning tablets.

All went well, although I had to wait over an hour for a bed before anything could start.

All young girls in the procedure room apart from a male doctor, so it seemed quite funny when a young girl said "take your pants off Mr. Walkden".

No problems at all, other than when they wanted to take some blood Saturday morning the "nurse" wanted to take it from the back of my hand - all previous blood samples had been taken from inside the elbow; it's always been painless and quick, but on the back of the hand was very very painful and slow. So painful in fact that I was sick and it spoilt my Saturday.

I was ready to come home at 08.00, but had to wait till after 3pm.

The Doctors had started their rounds when an emergency came in and another, then another. I appreciate of course that it is much more important to save someone's life than worry about letting a well patient go home.

I found out that they had four emergency patients, they managed to save three of them, so well done to the Doctors, but sorry about the one they couldn't save.

I'll take it easy for a few days then try to do a bit more exercising.

    Roger
