Oh how very sad, a lovely guy whom I shared many a pint with during the 1960s 70s 80s.
Always full of life, and so very courteous and knowledgable to his customers on board the Sealink Ferries.
He will be much missed.
RIP Roger, my dear, dear friend.

Later he worked for H.M Customs and Excise with one of our former Forum member the late Chris Putka(Marek). You could set your watch by Roger on a Saturday. In the Flotilla and Firkin (name changed now) for a couple of pints then catching the 68 bus at 2. 30 pm up to Clarendon Street for a couple in the Malvern then picking up the bus again at 4. 30 pm to go home.

He was an asset to any organisation that he worked for, professional, knowledgeable, succinct and courteous to all - no matter what their standing in life was.
It was always a privilege to be in his company, something you cannot say about many people.
A member of the human race at its finest.

I seem to remember you putting that photo up before Mr Nunn, the burning question is which one of those reprobates was you.

All coming back to me now, didn't the late Jack Hewitt annoy you by rubbing your head and calling you blondie?

Just looked at the photo again am surprised to see Jacob Rees- Mogg pictured studying in Dover, those ears and glasses are a bit of a give away.
