Saddened to read today that Roger Jefferies, former member of GHBS and well known in footballing circles, has died.
I lost touch with Roger when he moved to Nottingham, if someone from DAFC could pass on my condolences to his wife Kay I would appreciate it. Many thanks.

Yes very sad news Terry. We had a minutes silence for Roger at the game Tuesday night.

Roger was a good friend, a lovely, kind, decent, enthusiastic and funny man with a fearsome intellect, a proud Dovorian, a great supporter of and broadcaster for Dover Athletic and an engaging, fun-loving personality.
I shared the mic in the Crabble press box with Roger many times in the early '90s, along with Pete Crascall - and we used to have such a laugh! Andrew Stucken, Mark Winter, Dave Waterfield, Justin Allen, Tim Dixon, the late Barry Little, Matt Gerrard, Matt Davison, Tom Crawley, Dave Shirley, Mick Cork, the Husks, the Parmenters, the Harrisons, the DAFC board, staff, fans and many others will echo these sentiments and dear memories of Roger.
The minute's silence for Roger (and also for DAFC supporter George Hearn) at Crabble on Tuesday night was beautifully observed.
Terrible to think Roger died just a few days after his beloved mother. Our thoughts are with all his family; his wife, children, grandchildren and of course his lovely father Charlie, at this desperately sad time.
You will be much-missed, Roger. God bless you and your mum - from your friend, Andy x

I didn't know him, but that's a lovely tribute Andrew, well said. A good man, obviously missed by all who knew and loved him.
