13:0777810I received the sad news this morning that Cllr Roger Frayne passed away last night after many months of suffering. I shall miss his cheery wave as he sped along Castle St on his bike, hi-vis jacket trailing behind him in the wind.

13:2677813Very sad news. I shared part of Roger's allotment for several years and had many laughs there with him and his wicked sense of humour. He'll be missed by many.

13:5477817I was told about Roger this morning.
I have known him for over 36 years and we downed many a pint or three together. It was he who got me involved with the Conservatives in 1974 for the election in October that year.
RIP old mate.

15:1677827Very sad. I first met Roger in 1968 when the GHBS was formed, in fact he organised a fund raising dance for us at the Dover Stage. My thoughts are with Christine.

16:0677831Very sad news. He kept working for the community right up until recently too.. as I remember seeing him at the last public meeting at Maison Dieu House.
If anyone wants to be reminded of him there is a picture of him on the Who's Who page, just one entry down in a shot with RogerW and SueN.
I will search for another picture shortly.

18:2977878A very sad, but not unexpected announcement.
I know people speak well of those who have recently passed away, but Roger was a genuinely good guy. He will be missed by many people, but in a way, he was missed from a while ago, as he hadn't been well for quite some time - over a year I believe.
Our thoughts are with his elderly Mum, Astrid his daughter and his very dear friend Christine, who has done more than any one could expect of anyone. A true friend.
RIP Roger.

18:5177885Sorry to hear the sad news of Rogers passing away. Like BarryW I knew him for 30 odd years, not very well I might add, we were regulars in the Castle Inn in the 70's.
Like Peter, I remember him cycling home for his lunch through the town, he always said "hello Alec" even though we hadn't really met for years.
My thoughts and condolences go to his family at this sad time.
